The agreement
These Terms govern your use of datafetch.wtf ("datafetch", "we", "us"), the investigation console, and the REST API. By creating an account or sending an API request you accept them, together with the Acceptable Use Policy and the Privacy policy.
You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction and, where you act for an organisation, authorised to bind it.
Accounts and seats
- A seat is personal. Do not share credentials or API keys, and do not resell access.
- Keep your password and API keys secret; rotate a key immediately if it leaks.
- You are responsible for everything done under your account, including by anyone you give access to.
- Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
Plans, credits and payment
Plans and their limits are listed on Pricing. Payment is taken at checkout by a third-party provider; we never see your full card details.
- Lifetime plans
- A one-off payment for a non-expiring entitlement, subject to these Terms
- Credits and lookups
- Consumed per query as shown in the console; failed lookups may still cost
- Rate limits
- Plan-aware and enforced per key; sustained abuse may be throttled
- Currency
- EUR unless stated otherwise at checkout
"Lifetime" means the lifetime of the service, not a guarantee of perpetual operation. If we discontinue the service we will say so with reasonable notice.
Refunds
Because access is granted immediately and credits are consumable, purchases are generally non-refundable once lookups have been run. Where consumer law gives you a withdrawal right, that right applies and overrides this clause. If something is genuinely broken on our side, open a ticket — we would rather fix it or refund than argue.
Permitted use
The service is for lawful OSINT: authorised investigations, security research, fraud prevention, compliance, journalism and academic work. The full list of what is allowed and what is forbidden is in the Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Results are provided as leads for corroboration. They are not a consumer report, and you must not use them to make decisions about credit, insurance, employment, housing or any other purpose regulated by consumer-reporting law.
API and technical limits
- Authenticate with your key over HTTPS; keys sent in URLs or committed to repositories are treated as compromised.
- Respect documented rate limits and back off on 429 responses.
- Do not scrape the console UI, circumvent limits, or run concurrent sessions to multiply a single seat.
- Endpoints and response shapes may change; breaking changes are versioned.
Your data and our platform
You keep whatever rights you hold in the selectors you submit and the exports you produce. We keep all rights in the platform, the interface, the documentation and the orchestration logic. Nothing here transfers ownership of either.
We may use aggregated, non-identifying operational metrics to run capacity planning and abuse detection.
Availability and changes
We aim for a dependable service but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. Upstream providers, maintenance and incidents cause downtime. We may add, change or withdraw modules — where a change removes something you paid for, we will offer a reasonable remedy.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that results are complete, current or accurate; OSINT sources are third-party, historical and frequently wrong at the margins.
To the extent permitted by law our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death, personal injury or fraud.
You indemnify us against claims arising from your unlawful or unauthorised use of the service.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access without refund for breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, for non-payment, or where continued access would expose us to legal risk. Where it is safe and lawful to do so we will tell you why.
On termination your right to use the service ends immediately; retention of records follows the Privacy policy.
Governing law and disputes
Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence continue to apply whatever this clause says, and nothing here removes your right to bring a claim before your local courts where the law gives you that right.
To be completed by the operator: the governing law and the competent courts must be named here, consistent with the registered entity published on the Privacy policy.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes are announced in the console and take effect for existing accounts on the date stated in that notice. If you do not accept a change, stop using the service before it takes effect.
